Project Description
Artist Kris Marubayashi was seeking a kitchen remodel. The entrance to the garage door was taking away functional space and the stove was too close to the adjacent counter. Enclosed walls created a dark kitchen despite the opening above the sink. Her artistic style reflects the kitchen with black appliances, dark soapstone, and wood cabinets. A new structural beam allowed for the open space above the new counters. New hardwood floors refinished with the existing compliment the kitchen’s appliances. A small casement window added to the south wall allows more natural light, new recessed lighting is rarely used.
