Leonardo Da Vinci School

Sacramento, CA

Project Description

This site, currently a school playground area, was transformed into a detention basin for severe storm situations.  This project lowers the play field four feet for the detention basin, and accommodates a soccer field and baseball field for the school.  Concrete ramps and amphitheater were created at the perimeter with decorative fencing and stair railings.  A masonry wall was designed to showcase the school’s name through different colors and finishes.  The playfield and perimeter raised areas was landscaped to include the preservation of existing heritage trees and the addition of new shade trees.
